Using her personal Twitter account “wildkait,” Amouranth asked her followers if they were or knew of anyone with experience starting or running a convention. Specifically, she mentions looking for someone with “director, management, c suite, or chair/board level experience.” In other words, she’s looking for convention organizational-level veterans to help her either figure out the next steps for running a convention or to begin taking those next steps. By all evidence, Amouranth is very serious about exploring the possibility of running a convention.

Details about what Amouranth wants to do with a convention aren’t clear, however. What she does say is that she’d like to host the convention in her hometown, which would presumably be Houston, Texas. She also says that her goal would be a minimum of 25,000 attendees, which would be modest in comparison to the biggest fan conventions in the world but still sizable.
As for the subject of the convention, Amouranth doesn’t clarify. What she does say is that this isn’t an “amo-con bat signal,” and further that the “subject matter has little to do with me other than I was/am a fan.” In other words, it sounds like Amouranth wants to host a convention for something she likes, rather than hosting a convention for the Amouranth brand or any of her various streams, products, or services.
While the way Amouranth has framed the convention is quite mysterious so far, that’s not necessarily her intent. The Twitch star clarifies that she wants to share more information about her plans in the weeks to come. She’s just trying to get a better understanding of what’s necessary for a convention right now. It’s the first step in a process.
If Amouranth did host a convention specific to her streaming channels, it would undoubtedly be popular. YouTuber Tana Mongeau’s disaster of a convention in Anaheim, California notably pulled in over 20,000 attendees before being shut down and canceled. Amouranth will hopefully share more information about what could become a very highly anticipated event, whether it’s Twitch or related to something else, soon.
