According to a recent report from WCCFTech, rumors about AMD looking to issue some refresh cards from its Radeon RX 6000 series have been doing the rounds, and now it appears as though this may be happening. With speculation that the GPUs could launch in Q2 2022, there appear to be plans to launch reiterations of the RX 6950 XT, the RX 6850 XT, and the RX 6750 XT.

This is perhaps a response to Nvidia launching the refreshed RTX 3080 12 GB recently, which was released with little fanfare. The report goes on to say that the AMD refreshed cards could have a similar “silent release.” The new 6950, 6850, and 6750 are expected to be utilizing Navi 21 and Navi 22, and, so far, there doesn’t appear to be any official release date for the hardware outside the aforementioned Q2 speculation.
It’s entirely possible that AMD may be looking to go against some of Nvidia’s higher-end products, such as the 3080 12 GB, or perhaps even the GeForce RTX 3090 GPU, but it would be difficult to say at this stage. One thing that may be a bit of a concern for some is that, according to leaker Moore’s Law Is Dead, team red may not be unveiling an MSRP for the refreshed 6000 series, which is similar to what Nvidia did with its refreshed 3080 card.
With the release of the RX 6500 XT recently, which is being pitted against the Nvidia RTX 3050, it seems as though AMD is looking to keep its head above the water as it continues to lock horns with its oldest rival. It also has a bit more of a fight on its hands now that Intel is due to release its own graphics cards soon, so it remains to be seen what these latest refresh cards will be like in terms of performance until further down the line
