Javier Botet is a character actor who specializes in bringing modern movie monsters to life. An actor who doubles as a contortionist and is well over six feet tall, Botet has donned motion-capture outfits and heavy amounts of makeup to portray monsters in horror films like Alien: Covenant, Mama, It, The Conjuring 2, and Slender Man. Safely put, the Spanish actor will be able to bring Dracula in a unique way that many audiences used to traditional portrayals like that of Christopher Lee haven’t seen before.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter aims to tell a story from an early chapter of Bram Stoker’s original novel, where a ship is tasked with transporting Dracula—though the mission has a grim outcome. André Øvredal, director of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, will be directing a script by Escape Room writer Bragi Schut and Fear Street writer Zak Olkewicz.
Joining Botet will be a slew of exciting actors like Corey Hawkins (In The Heights), David Dastmalchian (Ant-Man, The Suicide Squad), Liam Cunningham (Game Of Thrones), and Aisling Franciosi (Black Narcissus) along with Stefan Kapičić, the Serbian actor who portrayed Colossus in the Deadpool films.
The Last Voyage of the Demeter is an exciting project that looks to be telling the original story of Dracula through a unique perspective. With this film in production, plus Morbius on the way and an upcoming MCU Blade film, vampires may once again be dominating the box office. Fans of classic horror films and vampire films will no doubt find a lot to appreciate from the exciting horror project, which is set to begin production in the coming months.
